Divya was crowned India's 21st Woman Grandmaster in 2021 and took home the 2022 Women's Indian Chess Championship. At the 2022 Chess Olympiad, she won a bronze medal for herself and was instrumental in India's gold medal victory at the 2020 FIDE Online Olympiad. Her ranking among Indian women chess players is No. 2 as of December 2024.
Divya triumphed in Almaty in 2023 by winning the Asian Women's Chess Championship and the women's rapid section of the Tata Steel India Chess Tournament, beating top players like Harika Dronavalli and Koneru Humpy. In May 2024, she won the Sharjah Challengers, and then won the FIDE World U-20 Girls Championship in June, becoming the fourth Indian to win this title. Her final score of 10/11 was impressive after a decisive victory in the final round.
Hexamind Chess Club won both silver and bronze medals at the 2025 World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships in London, and Divya was instrumental in their success. The blitz semifinal saw her defeat world No. 1 Hou Yifan in a thrilling 74-move game, which was a memorable moment.
